Checking backlinks with Majestic

A resource specializing in backlink analysis. Service Site Explorer checks the link mass of any site and determines:

  • Trust Flow;
  • citation flow (Citation Flow);
  • link density and distribution;
  • new links;
  • lost backlinks;
  • 5-year history;
  • Fresh Index charts;
  • anchor list.

Metrics TF (link quality, measured in the range from 1 to 100) and CF (total number of links to the site) are recommended to consider in relation to each other. A good link should have it close to zero.

Monthly price plans: LITE – $49.99; PRO – $99.99; API – $399.99. There is a free trial version with limited functionality.

Like Ahrefs, allows you to check backlinks for free on a test account.

Majestic supports two link indexes: Historic and Fresh. “The Historic index is a database of all the backlinks a website has ever had. Most of them no longer exist today, so it has a larger database than the Fresh index.

Note: To use Majestic when working with links, you need to prove ownership of the site, then you get good functionality even in the free version. That way you can work with up to 5 of your own web resources, with no restrictions.
